WHO WE ARE
Persatuan DAYBREAK is a charitable NGO based in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
DAYBREAK is an acronym for Disabled Adults and Youths Being Rewarded, Encouraged and Accepted in Kinta.
We were founded by the Canning Garden Methodist Church in 1992 and registered with the Registrar of Societies in 1996 and we are a tax exempt charity.
Our tax exemption no. is LHDN.01/35/42.51/179-6.4702.

GIVING THE GIFT OF OPPORTUNITY
To empower Persons with Disabilities, regardless of race or creed, to become self-reliant, independent and integrated members of society.
To provide skills training for Persons with Disabilities.
To seek suitable employment for Persons with Disabilities.
To provide a sales outlet for products made by Persons with Disabilities
WHAT WE DO
We serve Persons with Disabilities, who may have physical, learning or mental disabilities. Since we began, over 1,000 trainees have registered in our programmes and many have been gainfully employed. Our trainees are not required to pay any fees for the two years of their training period.
Vocational Training Programme
This programme focuses on developing the abilities of trainees in a broad range skills and work situations. They are assessed by Occupational Therapists who implement the training needs of individual trainees by way of the 5 Social Enterprises run by DAYBREAK, namely:
- Vegetable Farming/Plant Nursery
- Socks Manufacturing
- Assembly & Packaging
- General Cleaning
Supported Employment Programme
Our Job Coaches provide crucial follow-up assistance and counselling to trainees, employers and trainees’ families during the transition from their training environment to the place of employment, and assist trainees adaption to the working environment.
Work Experience Programme
Begun 2007 in partnership with the Special Education Department, this programme gives students from special schools the exposure to necessary job knowledge for gainful employment available at DAYBREAK. Upon completion of this programme, students may join DAYBREAK’s Vocational Training Programme.
